The 2nd SHINE LIKE STARS Greater Bay Area Youth English Proficiency Show final, co-organized by the English for Specific Purposes Development and Promotion Association of Macao and CICE MACAU (Centre for International Cooperation in Education MACAU), is scheduled to be held in Macau from May 27 to 28, 2023. SHINE LIKE STARS will continue the concept of cultivating students to learn English easily, stimulate their enthusiasm for speaking and writing English, and build a stage for students to show their self-confidence and self-reliance, creating unlimited creativity.

     In order to deepen students’ understanding of the cultures of various bay areas, the theme of this year’s SHINE LIKE STARS is to showcase the cultures, cuisines, architectures, arts and traditions of cities in each bay area as the elements of the competition. The main purpose of this carnival is to inspire students’ own thinking, promote learning exchanges among different regions and promote tourism in various bay areas. Participants need to present their works in the form of podcasts and create promotional videos based on the above topics for the preliminary round scoring materials. In line with the current trend of KOL promotion, this preliminary round not only tests students’ English and talent presentation skills, but also specifically adds video shooting and editing skills to enhance students’ all-round development and explore their multiple potentials. At the same time, it is hoped that through the works, the characteristics of various bay areas can be introduced in English, providing an opportunity for people around the world to have a deeper understanding of the cities in the bay areas and promoting the unique cultures of the bay areas to the international stage.
