In order to take appropriate anti-epidemic measures for candidates applying for the Cambridge English examinations during the period of the novel coronavirus, the Centre hereby makes the following statement:

The Macau Special Administrative Region has entered into the state of immediate prevention, with effect from 23:59pm on 24 September, 2021, in relation to risk of a local COVID-19 outbreak. Such risk is evaluated to be extremely high.

The declaration is in accordance with an Executive Order, following an evaluation by Macau’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre.

Declaration of the alert status is in a bid to prevent the virus from spreading in the community, thus protecting the safety and the lives of the public.

The status as declared is defined in Article 8, Item 1 of Article 9 and Provision 7 of Item 1 of Article 11 of the Civil Protection Law.

From 0:00 am on 25 September 2021, individuals intending to cross the border from Macao to Guangdong Province must present a proof of negative nucleic acid test issued within 24 hours. This takes into account the latest arrangements of the Zhuhai Government for 14 days’ medical observation of people returning to Zhuhai via Macau boarder, except from Type Three people of special condition.

In order to protect candidates, parents, staff and the community, the center has decided to postpone all Cambridge English exams which are scheduled on 16 October, 2021. The latest examination time will be notified separately depending on the situation. However, depending on the epidemic situation in Macau and the Guangdong Province, if the epidemic situation is not stabilized, the center has the right to change the examination date and time and will notify candidates accordingly.

For the latest situation of the epidemic, please refer to the news released by the Health Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government. For more updates, please visit:

CICE Macau reserves the right to make any final decisions with regards to the change of the examination location and time; should there be any changes, candidates will be notified in due course. The center will not make any refund arrangements, and we hereby declare on this matter.
